DECK GUARDIAN™ can be used on interior or exterior new or old: wood, plywood, composite wood, masonry and concrete surfaces. DECK GUARDIAN™ possesses excellent adhesion and can be used over previously coated or stained, well weathered surfaces using proper preparation. DECK GUARDIAN™ is excellent for use on decks, docks and spas.

For proper adhesion and penetration it is essential that the surface is prepared properly. Smooth new wood should be lightly sanded. Pressure wash all other wood or concrete with a water and chlorine solution using at least 1500 P.S.I. to remove any previous coatings, mildew, dirt, grease, grime and other foreign materials. If wood is weathered and has remained dark or silver gray after pressure washing, apply a solution of 1 part chlorine and 2 parts water and scrub with a stiff brush, then pressure wash again. Pressure treated wood must be weathered, dried and aged a minimum of 6 months before coating. All wood and concrete surfaces must be completely dry before applying DECK GUARDIAN™.

Nationwide premium elastomeric deck coatings can be applied with a brush, roller or airless sprayer. Use at least a 1 gallon per minute piston type airless spayer with a maximum tip size of .027. Remove all line and gun filters before spraying.

Standard product coverage on a smooth surface for DECK GUARDIAN™ is 75 sq. - 100 sq. ft. per gallon per coat. Some porous surfaces may require additional product. Two coats of DECK GUARDIAN™ is recommended for a longer life.

Make sure DECK GUARDIAN™ is completely dry before proceeding with additional coats. DECK GUARDIAN™ dries in approximately 2-4 hours, but it is recommended to allow 12 hours between coats to allow for variations in weather and thickness. DECK GUARDIAN™ continues to cure for up to two weeks after application. Dry times are dependent upon the thickness of application, humidity and weather. Some conditions, such as low temperature, high humidity, evening and morning dew, can increase curing times.
